The 1st Infantry
Battalion Co. A - "
Forney’s Regiment "
Organized in March of 2006,
we are a Civil War Living History Organization with a "unique"
portrayal of a unit of the Army of the Confederate States of America. Although small, these units of the
Regular Army were involved in all
theaters of operation and upheld the traditions of the American
"Professional" Soldier. Unrecognized at the time ,and unremembered since,
the Confederate Regular Army was still part of the history of the lost
cause. Only a footnote in history now, the Confederate "Regulars" still
deserve to be recognized for their part in the conflict, however small.
The unit maintains a more
"authentic" uniform & equipment requirement for the members. There is also a
uniform standard in place for our specific impression. The organization as a
whole is “progressive” in nature. We will direct you to acceptable vendors.
All uniforms and equipment must be approved for use. The
military unit is open to “males” only, 16 years of age or
older. Members are required to be “neat” in appearance, long hair is not
acceptable. We operate mostly in the NJ / NY Tri State Area and attend both
Reenactments and Living Histories. Membership requires a
"reasonable" commitment to the unit. We average about
one event a month starting in April through October / November.
At Living Histories we also offer opportunities for other
impressions ( Medical , Engineering and Artillery )
For more information on the unit including the
Guidelines please contact 1st Sgt.
